Top coach Paul Webster, based in Ferndown, has been teaching golf for over 40 years all over the world. His son Shaun Webster was the Doug Sanders World Boys Champion and English Amateur Champion in 1996. He also spent several years with Shaun on the Challenge Tour and later on the main tour in faraway places like Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, Brazil, Qatar and Argentina. Shaun now works on European Tour in a managing role with the likes of Andy Sullivan and several other top players.
Paul coached in both the US and South Africa where his protégé was Tjaart Van der Walt, who later played on the US PGA Tour. Paul also does occasional golfing tours in his favourite places but has taught groups in Norway, Germany and Denmark amongst other places.
But Paul says he is not just a coach to elite players: “I enjoy working with players at every level, not only the good golfer,” he said. “I take a great delight in helping the handicap golfer improve."
Paul is now based at Dudsbury Golf Club, Ferndown where he teaches all standards of golfers. In recent years Paul has worked with students on the holistic side of golf, working on the mind is also something Paul knows a great deal about and has worked alongside Jon Adler helping golfers overcome arguably the hardest part of the game, playing to your potential under pressure!
Paul believes that teaching golf in an uncomplicated, simple, relaxed way and not spending all your time focussing on the technical side is the best way to get results. “I have strong views about how the golf swing should look. I believe I am well qualified as I have been around top players for a long time and have helped them achieve great results. I can pass this knowledge on to anyone I work with, whatever their ability.”
Paul is also the holder of the 'Inner Caddy' qualification (Golf Psychology) whilst also working regularly with Jon Adler, Performance and Mind Coach based in Ferndown, Bournemouth.
